Registration opens for Work Truck Industry Welder Certification Program Train-the-Trainer session

Registration is open for Work Truck Industry Welder Certification Program’s spring 2024 Train-the-Trainer session scheduled April 30–May 2, 2024, at Lincoln Electric Welding Technology and Training Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

What is the Work Truck Industry Welder Certification Program?
One of the most critical issues within the commercial vehicle community is attracting, training, and retaining employees — especially in skilled trades such as welding — due to increasingly high demand. That’s why NTEA, in collaboration with The Lincoln Electric Company and National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), developed this unique program to provide work truck industry companies with access to a consistent training curriculum they can utilize to train and certify welders within their organizations.

Through this initiative, industry businesses will have the tools they need to launch an in-house training curriculum for the development of welders. Upon successful completion of the Train-the-Trainer session, each participant will be certified as an NC3 Trainer and with the skills required to conduct the program training, testing and certification of their organization’s employees.

Getting started
Companies interested in participating in the Work Truck Industry Welder Certification Program will begin by

  • Completing the LEEPS for NTEA Program Application and submitting it to NC3.
  • Designating and registering at least one individual to attend a Train-the-Trainer program at Lincoln Electric’s Welding Technology and Training Center.

Upon earning the course certificate of completion, participants will have the ability to train, mentor and certify other employees at their organizations. NC3 will provide ongoing follow-up support, including a sample implementation plan that companies use to build their programs for their workplace.
