industry. Monthly publications and special reports are posted keep you informed about the top issues for the truck equipment industry and how
you can help.
Members are encouraged to participate in
the legislative process by contacting specified congressional committee
members in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on
pertinent issues.
What should you communicate with a member in the U.S. House of
Representatives or U.S. Senate? When communicating with your representatives,
try to give them solid facts and figures.
- Tell them about your business, what you build, and who buys your product.
- Tell them the number of people you employ, your average payroll, and the
kinds of benefits you provide your employees.
- Tell them your annual sales, the products and supplies you buy, and how much
you pay in taxes.
- Tell them about the paperwork and cost burdens imposed by federal, state,
and local governments.
NTEA's Truck
Equipment Political Action Campaign (TREQPAC) also helps further
the interests of the truck equipment industry in the political
arena.
