FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Nov. 10, 2017) — The International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded NTEA the industry-respected Accredited Provider status. IACET Accredited Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The recognition period is for five years, at which time, NTEA can be reevaluated. Accreditation includes all programs offered or created during this time.

“NTEA’s recognition by IACET is a testament to our ongoing commitment to support professional development in the commercial vehicle industry,” said Steve Carey, NTEA executive director. “It’s an honor to become an accredited member and join an elite group of organizations that strive for excellence in education and training programs.”

“We are pleased to welcome NTEA as one of our newest Accredited Provider organizations,” said Joe McClary, IACET chief executive officer. He added, “NTEA joins over 1,000 organizations around the world that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education and training to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”

IACET accreditation is applicable to all NTEA programs, including:

  • Events (i.e., The Work Truck Show®, Fleet Technical Congress, Green Truck Summit, Executive Leadership Summit, Market Research Seminars, Truck Product Conference and on-site training)
  • Webinars
  • Online training (i.e., Truck Equipment 101)

In order to achieve Accredited Provider status, NTEA completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ten categories of the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. NTEA has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Accredited Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, NTEA is listed on IACET’s website (iacet.org).

Workforce development will continue to be a priority for NTEA. This topic will be an important theme at The Work Truck Show 2018 (March 6–9 in Indianapolis, Indiana). The educational program at North America’s largest work truck event will address how to retain top talent, change your recruiting approach and manage generational differences in your workforce.
