4/4/25

Demers Ambulances (Beloeil, Quebec) is celebrating its 65th anniversary in 2025, marking six and a half decades of success, excellence, and continuous innovation. Recently, the company reached several key milestones, including delivering its 25,000th unit and developing its 11th generation of ambulances to create a more versatile and innovative solution for those on the front lines. Demers continues to push the boundaries of safety, reliability, and performance to provide paramedics with the best tools for their critical work worldwide.

Innovation as the driving force
For 65 years, Demers has been known for its innovative spirit, demonstrated by the development of the FX care module, designed by and for paramedics. This 11th generation of ambulances, which has already proven its groundbreaking potential, now serves a broader purpose than initially envisioned, pushing the limits of design and functionality to support a wide range of emergency services. It represents a significant leap forward for the entire industry.

Demers is committed to integrating the latest technologies and even creating entirely new solutions to meet the highest standards. "These 65 years show that innovation isn't just a goal at Demers; it's part of our DNA," said Michel Pelletier, Vice President and General Manager. "By focusing on excellence and listening to the needs of our customers, we are transforming the ambulance manufacturing industry and making paramedics’ jobs easier."

Uninterrupted growth
Founded in Beloeil, Quebec, in 1960, Demers remains North America's oldest ambulance manufacturer and a market leader thanks to a major acquisition process that began in 2018 and was completed in 2021. Since then, the company has partnered with three key brands—Braun Industries, Crestline Ambulances, and Medix Speciality Vehicles—employing 1,400 people on a shared mission: improving lives, one relationship and one vehicle at a time.

Demers Ambulances has continuously reinvented itself over the years to make paramedics’ work easier and enhance the patient experience. "Our 65 years of growth reflect our unwavering commitment to quality in service of our users, which we achieve through the invaluable efforts of our teams. We want to thank all our employees for their contribution to this success," said Alain Brunelle, CEO of Demers Braun Crestline Medix.

A strong global partnership
With ambulances deployed in over 40 countries, Demers continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the global market. "We wouldn't have reached 65 years without the support of our dealers, retail partners, and the loyalty of our customers. Teamwork and mutual trust are essential to our success," said Steve Hoffrogge, President of Demers Crestline – Canada.

Demers Ambulances has always been intentional about designing and thoughtfully engineering its vehicles to meet the unique needs of its customers.

"As we celebrate this 65-year milestone, our commitment to the US emergency services market has never been stronger," said Rob Eichorst, Commercial Vice President - US. "We've listened to EMS agencies about their unique operational challenges and designed solutions specifically for them. In the coming months, we're developing an innovative new ambulance solution for the US marketplace created in response to paramedics' needs for improved safety and patient care. Its thoughtful design and enhanced features will address the daily challenges faced by first responders and the communities they serve. Stay tuned for more information as these developments progress in the months ahead."
